I am currently studying Graphic Design at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, MA, USA. Even though I am still learning about Graphic Design, as a small creative business owner, I am familiar with designing various items needed for advertising and marketing a business from logos, images, paper or web documents to social media posts and analytics.
I balanced my day job with personal creative work. I am a versatile visual fine arts artist, mainly self-taught (www.artofheart.com). I specialize in mixed media pieces but I am always looking into learning new ways to expand my creative portfolio such as incorporating digital art and photography within my mixed media. I am also a jewelry designer (www.sandrine-jewelry.com). I manage my creative entrepreneurship daily through creating unique products, branding, social media and in-person venues or events.
My creative approach — no matter the medium — starts initially with the problem to solve or who is to be reached, defining what the goal needs to be to represent the concept. I usually visualize various options first, complemented by research on various ways to approach the situation, then sketch final drafts before deciding how to best represent the concept in relation to its context and the market it's trying to reach.
Being a visual learner myself, I am inclined to simplify concepts through impactful images. I believe that a picture is worth a thousand words. Images impact minds, beliefs and what or who we relate to. Thus, graphic design provides means to positively influence our communities through visual images of positive social change using various marketing strategies or visual/multi media means of communicating.
My mission as a creative professional is to value the uniqueness in each of us in ways that create memorable images that reach your target audience so people want to know more about your ideas, services, or products.
